Our mission is to make a difference for middle-income Americans by
increasing the supply of well-built, sustainable, middle-income homes,
near jobs, transportation, culture, and community, with an affordable
mortgage that provides access to financial stability and a life of
freedom, abundance, and peace of mind.
Homes for the Missing Middle was founded by Susan Soffer, a retired architect, to address concerns that home ownership is increasingly unaffordable to middle-class Americans. We are committed to creating homes that provide a secure, fulfilling, and sustainable life for middle-income families and individuals.
Our goal is to build right-sized, sustainable, and well-built prefabricated homes on urban infill lots which we will sell
to middle-income families at below market rates with a mortgage payment that is affordable on a middle-income.
We are committed to increasing awareness in local communities about the need for more sustainable and affordable middle-income homes and zoning that provides more land on which to build those homes.
